Heavenly goodness of Avocadoria

Have you tried the new craze in town? Most likely, you’ve heard already of Avocadoria.ph which specializes in decadent avocado-based desserts by Chef Czarina.

I know for a fact that Avocados are different from other fruits. I know this because lately, I’ve been trying to watch what I eat. Most fruits are high in sugar and carbohydrates but not avocados. Avocados happen to be  filled with healthy, essential fats. I just love plain avocados with a little milk or as toppings on salad. Naturally, I was drawn to avocadoria!

Avocado Lover

I was given my first ever Dream Lover by Avocadoria and oh my! It’s really heavenly!!!Big chunks of avocado in avocado ice cream, with and almond nuts, tapioca pearls and with a dash of chia seeds and flaxseed. It is really good and yummy!

No wonder Avocadoria is all over the city!!! They recently opened at SM City Masinag and I’m just happy to be there and experience it for the first time.

They offer the following signature treats:

  • Avocado Ice Cream Cheesecake (P550/one tin),
  • Avocado Lover (P110/8 oz, P125/12 oz) which has avocado soft-serve, avocado slices, nuts, crushed graham crackers, flax, and chia seeds;
  •  Avocado Dream (P90), which is avocado ice cream served in an avocado shell and topped with pastillas
  • Avocado Shake which is made by real avocado with fresh fruit topping of your choice: avocado, mango, chico, guyabano and jackfruit.

From me to you: This one is a must try!

Hot! The Almond Milk and Honey Body Range at The Body Shop

Make peace with sensitive skin with The Body Shop’s new Almond Milk & Honey bath and skin care range. Enriched with Community Trade almond oil from the Alicante region of Spain, and Community Trade honey from the UNESCO Sheka rainforest in Ethiopia, this caring new range is as kind to the environment as it is your skin.

Body Shop’s Almond oil comes from almond nuts grown by expert farmers in the Alicante region of Spain. To collect the precious honey sourced from the Sheka rainforest biosphere reserve, The Body Shop works with the “bee whisperers” of Beza Mar, a group dedicated to improving the livelihood of Ethiopian beekeeping communities and maintaining their traditional, natural way of working with the bees. This helps support the sustainable use of the forest by providing a steady income to local people who might otherwise be forced to agriculture that could lead to deforestation.

Alongside with its campaign “Make love not war with sensitive skin”, The Body Shop also wants people to embrace sensitivity, to show kindness and empathy to all the sensitive issues seen in social media.

Made for sensitively dry skin, The Body Shop’s new range starts from bath essentials such as the Almond Milk & Honey Cleansing Bar, Gently Exfoliating Cream Body Scrub, Bath Milk, and Shower Cream.  There are also products for your after-bath skin care routine- the Almond Milk & Honey Body Lotion, Soothing & Restoring Body Butter, and the Calming & Protecting Hand Cream.

The Body Shop now accepts SM Advantage Card for points earning and redemption, SM and Sodexo premium pass in all The Body Shop stores nationwide.

SM Pet Park: Mall experience for our furry friends!

For the first time ever, SM Supermalls will build a Pet Park in SM City Taytay  to bring happiness to pet owners and extend a one-of-a kind mall experience to our furry friends!  The ground breaking ceremony was held last Saturday, March 25,  at SM City Taytay’s BPO – open parking area and was graced by SM City Taytay Mall Manager, Ms. Maureen Fernandez (far left),  Doggie’s Choice owners, adorable Diku (Doggie’s choice mascot) and Philippine pet fashion icon Ms. Bernie Alfonso of Doodles Paw Couture (3rd from left. With them are pet owners with their cute puppies.

No need for pet owners to travel so many miles (not to mention be stuck in traffic)  to visit a pet park in Eastwood, Greenhills or Tiendesitas,  Now, they can enjoy a place where their “fur babies” are welcome and can run and play alongside their friends.

Two months from now, I imagine seeing happy people,  laughters in the air as happy puppies run and jump and dance around and around under a bright sky.

Diku – Doggie’s  Choice mascot stars the groundbreaking event.

May this be the first of many pet parks to be built by SM.  They truly got it all for us and these little four-legged ones.

Easy Driver’s License Renewal at SM

My Husband’s birthday is fast approaching and soon enough, he’ll ask me for tips on where he can renew his Driver’s license.  My answer now would be – in SM!

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) and SM recently signed a memorandum of agreement to bring Drivers’ license renewal closer, easier and more convenient to the public at SM City North EDSA.

LTO Chief Asec. Edgar Galvante (3RD from left), SM Supermalls President Annie Garcia(4th from left), and SM Mart, Inc. Executive Vice President Ricky Lim (2nd from left) during the recent signing of the Memorandum of Agreement which allows LTO to occupy a space for their Driver’s License Renewal Center (DLRC) at selected SM Malls. Also present are SM Mart, Inc. Vice President for Business Center Operations Dennis Yaw, LTO Executive Director Atty. Romeo Vera Cruz, and LTO-NCR Regional Director Atty. Clarence Guinto. With this partnership, the public can expect more DLRCs in various SM malls nationwide. This is one way to serve the public better and to bring the government services closer, easier and conveniently to the public.

This partnership will also give mallgoers the opportunity to have their licensed processed while shopping, having fun, and doing their other errands in SM Malls.

The partnership allows LTO to set up and operate Driver’s License Renewal Centers (DLRC) at selected malls such as:
  • SM City North EDSA
  • SM City Pampanga
  • SM City Manila
  • SM City Cebu
  • SM Southmall
  • SM Mall of Asia
  • SM City San Jose Del Monte
  • SM City Davao
  • SM Seaside City Cebu and
  • SM City Cabanatuan
DLRCs are open from Mondays to Saturdays from 10am to 9pm (excluding legal holidays, special non-working days and work suspensions declared by the government).

LTO Chief Asec. Edgar Galvante graced the MOA signing together with LTO Executive Director Atty. Romeo Vera Cruz, LTO-NCR Regional Director Atty. Clarence Guinto, SM Supermalls President Annie Garcia, SM Mart, Inc. Executive Vice President Ricky Lim and Vice President for Business Center Operations Dennis Yaw.

The Driver’s License Renewal Center (DLRC) at SM City North EDSA is conveniently located at the Government Service Express at The Annex, LTO’s Drivers License Renewal together with other government service counters such as Philippine Postal Corporation, PhilHealth, SSS, GSIS, and Pag-IBIG.

The Government Service Center at SM City North EDSA is a one-stop venue for various government service counters such as Philippine Postal Corporation, PhilHealth, SSS, GSIS, and Pag-IBIG.

Likewise, SM Business Centers and SM Bills Payment Counters now accept payments for license renewal, and will serve as an alternate receiving and payment counters to augment the LTO central office; accepting cash payments from LTO clients with Order of Payment forms from 10:00am to 7:00pm every day.

Meanwhile, SM Business Centers offer PSA (formerly NSO) applications for birth, marriage, and death certificates; PRC renewals of professional licenses; DTI consumer welfare services and renewal of business name; and Ombudsman Clearance applications.

Moreover, SM Bills Payment counters located in The SM Store, SM Supermarket, SM Hypermarket and Savemore, accept payments for contributions and/or loans for the Social Security System, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth and National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation and Armed Forces & Police Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. (AFPMBAI); and payment of fines for tickets issued by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

I super agree that the LTO Driver’s License Renewal Center (DLRC) is one of the many services SM extends beyond shopping to its customers.

Newest Shopping Destination in the East

There is a new shopping destination in the East – SM City East Ortigas!

The 60th Supermall  in the country formally opened its doors to excited folks last December 2. They opened with a Bang, of course! – with the band, production numbers, parade, colorful displays, various mascots and lovely characters (Snowman, Fairies, 7 Dwarfs, Princes and Princesses, King and Queen, and many others)  to welcome everyone!

People literally barged in when SM City Ortigas formally opened.

The works!

I know it will be a big hit as it occupies   a prime spot right at the boundary of Pasig City and Cainta, where it enjoys proximity and accessibility to Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong, Marikina and nearby Rizal towns.

For those who haven’t been there, think of the mall as the East Ortigas version of “Megamall.”

Something New

SM East Ortigas is set as the eastern community’s lifestyle hub. It features a paved jogging path and loops that goes around the mall filled with trees serving as natural shade in the day.  It will also have state-of-the-art cinemas, comprised of four digital cinemas and four Director’s Club theaters.

The mall is also ready to welcome to its fold a diverse tenant mix anchored by the SM Store, SM Supermarket, Appliance Center, Ace Hardware and Watsons.  People can expect to keep the merchandising mix fresh and exciting as it welcomes new concepts and first-to-market shops and dining options to complement trusted brands.  It appeals to the lifestyle driven young professionals and the family-oriented people of nearby areas.

What I like about it

I like that the place is wide with 82,000 square meters!  There are lots of tenants – the trusted ones and the new ones which makes me want to come back.  It is well lighted.  The ambiance is fresh, modern and young.  There’s also a big place for events – in fact, that mall can hold multiple events!

And as Christmas is around the corner, I love their awesome and happy display. Over-all, it is one big happy place!
